Scholars, pastors, students, and church leaders from across the United States and Canada and around the world met at the 49th annual meeting of the Wesleyan Theological Society at Northwest Nazarene University. The two-day event focused on the atonement in the Wesleyan tradition. Papers were presented by Ben Witherington, professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary; Randy Maddox, professor of Wesleyan and Methodist Studies at Duke Divinity School; and Jason Vickers (WTS president), professor of Theology and Wesleyan Studies at United Theological Seminary. On the final day, the last plenary session was a panel discussion which focused on the theme, “Atonement in the Wesleyan Tradition: Past and Present Looking Forward.” Panelists included: Diane Leclerc, Northwest Nazarene University; Thomas Noble, Nazarene Theological Seminary; Fred Sanders, Biola University, and Robert Wall, Seattle Pacific University.
